The Chess Pieces is a fictional organization in the anime and manga series MÄR: Märchen Awakens Romance. The army is the main antagonist factor of the series. Each member of the Chess Pieces joined with different objectives and are united under the same goal: to conquer the world. Its ranks are based on the pieces in the game of chess with rank going from King down to pawns, separating the hierarchy into two parts: the command force, consisting of King and Queen and the combat force made up of the Knights, Bishops, Rooks and Pawns. The combat force is led by Phantom, the strongest Knight.
